Located in the Saint Polycarp commune, near the town of Limoux in the Aude Valley district of the Languedoc Roussillon, the estate has 118 hectares under vine. Output is made up predominately with red varietals, Grencahe, Syrah and Malbec from the Mediterranean and Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon from the Atlantic.
The wine has an attractive, intense and brilliant ruby colour.
The complex and powerful nose opens on wild berries and jammy fruit, developing aromas of marzipan, red berry fruit and spice on airing.
A supple attack reveals a well-rounded tannic structure that supports ripe fruit flavours with a suggestion of toast.
The nicely balanced mid-palate is very full in the mouth, with fine acidity and close-knit, elegant tannins, building to a long and warm-hearted finish on refined notes of roasted coffee and spice.
All the wines at the estate are under the direct supervision of the Chateau Mouton Rothschild technical team and proudly take their place among the elite brands of Baron Philippe de Rothschild.
