The history of this wonderful property dates back to 1895, when Jacques Mondon acquired several vineyards in the parish of Cissac-Médoc and combined them to form Château Cissac.

In 1940 Jacque's grandson, Louis Vialard, inherited the property, and now it is in the capable hands of Louis' granddaughter Marie.  Together with Chief Winemaker Laurent Saint Pasteur, she continues to take these award winning wines from strength to strength.

Size of the vineyard: 50 hectares made up of fine gravel over chalk, planted with 7,200 vines per hectare.

Average annual production: 220,000 bottles.

Grape varieties: 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot.

Average age of vines: 30-year-old rootstock. Harvesting 100% by hand.

Winemaking: Thermo-regulated fermentation in oak vats for up to 3 weeks, then ageing for between 18-20 months in French oak barrels, 35% of which are new.
